Fruits as a source of Vitamin C

The RDA for adult males is 90 mg and adult females 75 mg

Orange juice            3/4 cup (6 oz)    75 mg
Grapefruit juice        3/4 cup (6 oz)    60 mg
Orange juice            1 medium          70 mg
Grapefruit juice      1/2 medium        44 mg
Strawberries          1 cup, whole       82 mg
Tomato                     1 medium         23 mg

and then you have exotic fruits like Acerola Cherry and Camu Camu Berry with massive Vitamin C content.

Good sources of other vitamins are:

Vitamin B5

Avocado which is also a good source of Vitamin E

Vitamin B6

Banana

Whole fruits are also a great source of another essential compound - dietary fiber.

Research today reveals that vitamins and minerals are only a small number of the compounds in fruits. Basic scientific research has now revealed that there are other qualities of fruits that are just as important as vitamins. The complete list of compounds present in fruits and vegetables is still unknown. However, the medicinal benefits from eating fruits have been gaining more recognition in the last 2-3 decades. The health benefits of fruit nutrients are no longer seen as being from just vitamins A, C, D and E but rather from a complex array of compounds. These compounds are working in processes that are still being discovered and that are yet to be completely understood.
